Solway Aquaculture Strategy
| Copy of Solway Aquaculture Strategy (Note this is a big file). This document provides a draft Strategy for marine aquaculture development in the Solway. The purpose of this Strategy is to provide a sustainable development framework that identifies potential areas for aquaculture development and indicates the possible scale and nature of seafood cultivation that might take place. The document also identifies the sensitivities involved in siting and operating aquaculture and outlines the management issues involved. It is aimed at a broad spectrum of readers, including existing and potential aquaculturists, planning
authorities, developmental agencies as well as other users of the Solway. This Strategy is a framework that will guide the overall development of aquaculture in the Solway. However, it will not replace the detailed investigations required into siting individual developments and the required planning consent.
